The invention relates to a microprocessor controller for high voltage equipment employed in electric filters. In order to achieve four operating modes: a classic mode, a monopulsed mode, a double pulsed mode and a combined classic-pulsed mode, the microprocessor controller (SCM) comprises a reed relay unit (BRR) making the commands (1a) required to the power-control contactors in the low voltage control panel (TCJT) of the high voltage equipment for electric filters, a thyristor control unit (BCT) which generates the control pulses (3a) required for controlling the thyristors, a signal processing unit (PS-IOA) provided with analogue optical insulation means which provides analogue and/or digital parameters in order to achieve an optimal drive, a data acquisition card (PAD) comprising analogue/digital converters for converting the analogue current and voltage parameters in the system, and digital/analogue converters for transmitting the commands, a serial/network communication port (CS/R) ensuring the transmission of data and commands to the main board (PB-IBM) of the microprocessor and to a hierarchically higher computer (CIS), respectively, the microprocessor controller (SCM) also comprising a data display unit (BAD) for the numerical display of data required by the operator for following the system operation and, as the case may be, for signalling the possible failures, as well as a data input unit (BID)having keys for communicating with the operator, the data required for the operation in the mode desired by the user being input thereby, the data input and reading being also possible from the hierarchically higher computer (CIS) using the serial/network communication port (CS/R).
