PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize a display of which displaying is easy to see even at a dark place without a backlight apparatus and power consumption is low and which is thin and lightweight. SOLUTION: The display incorporates a reflection type liquid crystal element 2, an electroluminescence display element 3 and switching elements 4, 5. According to brightness of the surroundings, ether of the reflection type liquid crystal element 2 and the electroluminescence display element 3 is selected and is switched one to another to perform display.
