TONER AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner capable of giving good images over a prolonged period of time and attaining saving of energy and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, an amorphous silicon photoreceptor having a photoconductive layer and a surface protecting layer stacked in order on an electrically conductive substrate is used, wherein the interfacial region between the photoconductive layer and the surface protecting layer has a continuously varying composition and the average gradientΔa of the surface of the photoreceptor is 0.12-1.0. The toner used in the image forming method comprises at least a binder resin and a colorant, the binder resin comprises (a) a hybrid resin component having a vinyl polymerized unit and a polyester unit, wherein (b) the mixing mass ratio between a vinyl monomer and a polyester monomer is 10:90 to 50:50, and the toner contains 10-50% tetrahydrofuran (THF)-insoluble component.
