PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition key construction for a motorcycle by making the ignition key compact during the use without the ignition key disturbing a rider when he is getting on and off or without turning the ignition key when the rider's leg hits the key. SOLUTION: A grip portion 48b as a separate body is provided for a mascot 48B placed to an end portion of the ignition key 48 of the motorcycle for starting or stopping the engine by inserting the key to a key groove and turning it, and the grip portion 48b is journalized in a foldable manner in both right and left directions perpendicular to the turning shaft direction of the ignition key 48 thereby forming the ignition key construction for the motorcycle.
