PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female side terminal fitting with which a lifting of a base end section of an elastic contact piece can be restricted even for a miniaturized female side terminal fitting. SOLUTION: At a front half section of a female side terminal fitting 1, there is arranged a square tubular connection section 5 to be connected with a male tab 4 provided at a partner male side terminal fitting. In the inside of the connection section 5, a pair of contact sections 9C, 18 are arranged respectively at a contact wall section 17 on the upper surface and at a bottom wall section 23 on the lower surface. Both of the contact sections 9C, 18 are so configured that they come in contact elastically with each other while pinching a male tab 4. The second contact section 9C is arranged at the tip side of an elastic contact piece 9. A locking edge 25 is provided protruding at the side edge of the base end section 9A of the elastic contact piece 9 and when the locking edge 25 is caught in a locking hole 26 opened at a side wall section 15, the position of the base end section 9A of the elastic contact piece 9 is fixed, leading the lifting of the base end section 9A to be restricted.
