<p>Superconducting coil device (1) for electrical power applications comprising at least a coil with one or more windings (10) at least partly consisting of a superconducting material which may conduct an alternating current resulting in a magnetic field in the coil. The device (1) comprises means (3-6, 10-14) for providing a temperature distribution in the coil (1) related to the magnetic field in the coil (1) in order thereby to reduce the alternating current losses in the superconducting material.</p> |
