PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device which reads a map file that does not require to update the map file of an adjacent unit when a certain one is updated. SOLUTION: The map file, which represents each unit obtained by dividing a map into plural regions, includes a node record generated for every node and a link record generated for every link. A prescribed node record records coordinate information of adjacent nodes that rules the connection relation ship of the roads of a unit and its adjacent unit. These map files are stored in a first storage device 19. A data processing section 13 executes a process to search for a route using the map files. During a route searching process, the section 13 goes through the connection from a road in one unit to the road within the adjacent unit based on the coordinate information being possessed by one of the units and the adjacent node of the adjacent unit. |
