摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording and reading apparatus employing an image detector, which can read an image signal with a high S/N even in an area with a low recording optical intensity. SOLUTION: The image recording and reading apparatus employs the image detector 10 formed by stacking a first stripe electrode 12, a photo conductive layer 13, a rectifier layer 14, and a second stripe electrode 16. After the storage section 19 stores uniform electronic charges by applying a recording voltage between both elements 12a and 16a from a variable voltage power supply 72, emitting a recording light 12 to the first stripe electrode 12 reduces latent image electronic charges depending on a dose. A reading voltage higher than the recording voltage is applied between any of the elements 12a and the element 16a and a current detection circuit 70 detects a charging current flowing to the image detector 10 depending on the application of this voltage.
