PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system configured such that a visitor can designate a visit place by using the name of a resident whom the visitor never forgets. SOLUTION: In this intercom system, a lobby intercom unit 1 installed in a common entrance recognizes by voice the name or a room number of a resident uttered by a visitor and automatically calls and rings an in-room intercom unit 2 registered in cross-reference with the name or the room number of the resident when the name or room number recognized in voice is coincident with the name or room number of the resident registered in advance.
