PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a water duct which copes with the approaching of the neighboring components, reduces the rate of change of the sectional area of the duct, and suppresses any flow disturbance in the duct. SOLUTION: In the water duct (10) for an internal combustion engine having a main tubular body part (2), an elbow part (4), an elbow-adjacent tubular body part (6) communicated with the main tubular body part (2) and adjacent to both ends of the elbow part (4), a recess (8) is formed in the elbow part (4) including the elbow-adjacent tubular body part (6) toward the pipe center to avoid any interference from the proximity component.
