PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser and a method for manufacturing the same capable of preventing any error from happening on a tracking servo. SOLUTION: In a stem 1 on which a laser chip 102 is mounted a black colored carburizing layer 10 is formed around a portion which return light hits. When the return light of laser light emitted from a laser chip 2 hits the carburizing layer 10, the return light is absorbed by the carburizing layer 10. |
