PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a silencing function whose constitution is simplified by reducing the amount of a silencing data. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus having a function to silence at an operating time has a noise data recording part 102 to store the noise data of respective noise sources which are the sources of the noises, a copying mode recording part 103 to record the respective kinds of driving timing of one or more noise sources actuated in the case of performing operation in a copying mode with respect to the copying mode, the silencing data preparing part 104 to prepare the silencing data with the data of the noise data recording part and the silencing data outputting part 105 to output the silencing data of the respective noise sources in timing to start copying.
