PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image deterioration from being caused by the reverse transfer and toner image disturbance. SOLUTION: In a tandem structure in which a plurality of photoreceptor drums 20 are juxtaposed, a primary transfer bias roller 30 is disposed opposite each photoreceptor drum 20 in a corresponding transfer part. The shaft 30a of each primary transfer bias roller 30 is provided, via bearings, with butting members 53 which are in contact with the surface of the corresponding photoreceptor drum 20. Thus, an empty space g is created between the photoreceptor drum 20 and the intermediate transfer belt 29.
