PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling the temperature of a photographic development processing liquid using a flow control valve which is simple in construction and does not require software for control. SOLUTION: The device 8 for controlling the temperature of the photographic development processing liquid which is arranged in a circulating flow passage 42 for creating a circulating stream within a development processing tank 30 housing the processing liquid for developing photographic sensitive materials by returning the processing liquid drawn out of the development processing tank again into the development processing tank is provided with the flow control valve 80 for selectively changing over a temperature control mode of performing the heat exchanging between the processing liquid flowing in the circulating flow passage and the heat exchange medium fed from a temperature control unit 90 and a non-temperature control mode of not performing such heat exchanging. The flow control valve has a temperature sensitive displacement body 83 which is displaced by an ambient temperature and a valve element 82 which is directly operated to be changed over to the temperature control mode position and the non-temperature control mode position by the displacement force of the temperature sensitive displacement body.
