PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for image recording, and a heat developable photosensitive material which can achieve density stability of an output image by suppressing density variation due to temperature variation. SOLUTION: This image recording method forms a visible image by forming a latent image by exposing the heat developable photosensitive material to a light beam from a light source according to an image signal and then heat developing the image by heating the heat developable photosensitive material. A wavelength characteristic of the light beam is so selected on the basis of a spectral sensitivity characteristic of the heat developable photosensitive material so that sensitivity variation of the heat developable photosensitive material due to temperature variation and sensitivity variation of the heat developable photosensitive material due to wavelength variation of the light beam cancel each other.
