PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting illumination display of a liquid crystal panel by which an inspection time is shortened by reducing an inspection display pattern. SOLUTION: The method is for inspecting illumination display of the liquid crystal display panel. To perform the illumination display inspection by displaying the entire surface of the liquid crystal display panel in black, a gradation voltage for entire-surface white display is supplied to a data bus line in a blanking period (TB) in one frame cycle and to perform the illumination display inspection by displaying the entire surface of the liquid crystal panel in white, a gradation voltage for entire-surface black display is supplied to the data bus line in the blanking period (TB). Preferably, TB>=TA/5 holds for the time (TA) from the application of the voltage to a starting gate bus line to the application of the voltage to a final gate bus line and the time (TB) of the blanking period.
