BIOCHIP, BIOCHIP ARRAY AND SCREENING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biochip which can be immobilized precisely even to a polymer and which can be screened simply as compared with conventional cases and to provide a biochip array. SOLUTION: The biochip is composed of a very small carrier comprising a medium having a definite refractive index higher than the refractive index of a solution, a hydrophobic part which is formed on one face of the very small carrier and a recognition substance which is immobilized to the other face of the very small carrier. When electromagnetic waves incident on the side of the solution from the side the medium having the definite refractive index are totally reflected, an evanescent field can be generated on the side of the solution.
