PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the flow sounds of a cooling medium in a region where a solenoid valve has a small opening. SOLUTION: The solenoid valve has a valve seat 61 and its rod valve element 4 is energized toward the valve seat by electromagnetic force. The valve element 4 has a space 40c formed at the end and a flow path formed between itself and a valve chamber 11. An opening portion of the space 40c is closed by a porous member 170. The passing cooling medium has bubbles sectioned smaller which bring about reduced flow sounds.
