<p>A blower including: a close coupled fan unit driven by an electric drive motor having a feed air impeller and a motor cooling impeller mounted on the motor shaft, said fan unit being supported in a shroud defining a motor chamber and a fan chamber, said shroud being supported in a housing (11). Said housing (11) and said shroud defining therebetween a first chamber in fluid communication with a second chamber. Said housing (11) having a fresh air opening (21) for passage of fresh air into said first chamber, a feed air discharge opening (22) in fluid communication with a feed air outlet of said shroud and a cooling air discharge opening (23) in fluid communication with said motor chamber, said second chamber being in fluid communication with a feed air opening of said shroud and said first chamber, and one or both of said first and second chambers being in fluid communication with a cooling air opening of said shroud, said feed air discharge opening (22) arranged to discharge feed air in a direction substantially parallel to the axis (15) of said motor shaft.</p> |
