PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a cleaner-less image forming apparatus that the electric charge quantity of a residual developer on an image carrier is optimized irrelevantly to environment wherein the image forming device is used. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a developer electrostatic charging quantity control means 7 which is positioned upstream from an electrostatic charging means 2 in the moving direction of an image carrier and downstream from a transfer means 5 in the image carrier moving direction and electrostatically charges a developer on the image carrier surface and a residual developer charge elimination equalizing means 8 which is positioned upstream from the control means 7 in the image carrier moving direction and downstream from the transfer means 5 in the image carrier moving direction and makes the residual developer remaining on the image carrier surface after a transfer process uniform; and a DC voltage which is applied to at least one of them is brought variation control according to unit use environment information and/or image print ratio information. |
