PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which image gloss equivalent to the initial period can be obtained even after a fixing body is used for a long period of time and an image forming apparatus provided with the fixing device. SOLUTION: In the fixing device, control is carried out so that specified fixing conditions in regard to the glossiness of a fixed image such as the temperature of a fixing roll 51 when fixing and the pressurizing contact force between the fixing roll 51 and a press roll 52 are set corresponding to the surface glossiness detected by a glossiness detecting means 80 detecting the surface glossiness of at least one of the fixing roll 51 or the press roll 52. |
