PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make identification information include un-enciphered information and carry out attaching work and confirming work without any mistakes for attaching an identification information display member displaying the identification information to an article. SOLUTION: The commodity management system uses the identification information display member attached to respective articles to be sold and a management computer 15 connected with the Internet or the like. In the identification information display member 5, specifying information 5a including the un-enciphered information corresponding to a type of the article 3 and enciphered management information 5c is displayed and the specifying information 5a is composed of a sign or number corresponding to the type of the article 3. The identification information display member 5 is attached to the article 3 and it is sold as a commodity 1. When a purchaser having purchased the commodity 1 is allowed access to the management computer 15 under a condition of inputting the identification information 5, the purchaser is registered and predetermined contents are provided to the purchaser.
