PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a service processor in a disk array system. SOLUTION: A normal maintenance part 31 and a standby maintenance part 32 having a redundant constitution comprising inexpensive personal computers or the like are arranged as service processors for a microprocessor 11 in the disk array system with an information network 21 between them to perform remote maintenance by a remote maintenance center 91, and a maintenance part monitor part 61 is provided to perform fault recovery operation by fault detection and power-off/on of the normal maintenance part 31 and the standby maintenance part 32. Recovery processing by power-off/on is executed when a fault of the normal maintenance part 31 is detected; and in the case that recovery processing is unsuccessful, the power source of the normal maintenance part 31 is turned off and that of the standby maintenance part 32 is turned on to execute switching of service processors, and thus maintenance management is continued, and this switching event is reported to the remote maintenance center 91. |
