PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element inserting device in which damage on a capacitor element can be reduced when it is inserted into a case. SOLUTION: Lead wires 4 of a capacitor element 1 are chucked by an element chuck 8 and the case is chucked by a collet chuck 7. When a guide 10 is closed, the body part 2 of the capacitor element 1 and the opening end of the case 5 are surrounded. When the body part 2 comes into contact with the guide 10, it is moved by a copy means 14 in the direction for lessening the contact load with a weak force. The element chuck 8 is moved toward the collet chuck 8 by means of an approaching/receding mechanism 13 and the capacitor element 1 is inserted into the case 5. When the body part 2 comes into contact with the guide 10 and the case 5, it is similarly moved by a copy means 14 thus lessening the contact load.
