LEAD-ACID BATTERY NEGATIVE ELECTRODE DETERIORATION DETERMINING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lead-acid battery negative electrode deterioration judging method which can determine a degree of deterioration of a negative electrode under the condition where the lead-acid battery is not mounted to the device using the lead-acid battery. SOLUTION: A plurality of discharging/charging cycle are applied to the lead-acid battery in use or the same after use, and a potential curve at that time is measured by using a reference electrode, and the negative electrode potential curve is compared with that of unused battery, and the state of deterioration is determined from the potential variation at the last stage of discharge and the same at the initial stage of charging.
