PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for emitting light capable of emitting light at a plurality of controllable wavelengths. SOLUTION: There are described a method and a device for emitting light including the foregoing method and device for emitting light, which are capable of emitting light at a plurality of controllable wavelengths. In accordance with an embodiment, the method comprises processes of outputting a control signal 5, and of emitting light at a plurality of wavelengths using a semiconductor laser light 20 corresponding to polarization states of the same. The polarized state is adjusted in response to the control signal 5. The wavelength of light emitted using the laser 20 is adjusted in response to the adjustment of the polarized state of the laser 20.
