PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively adjust an ε value. SOLUTION: The data of an ε value is read from a CD-RW disk. A laser control unit 28 decides VRDC according to a necessary laser output based on a relation between the VRDC and the laser output stored in a register 28a. Then, the VRDC is divided by the εvalue read from the disk to decide proper VWDC.
