PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sampling device that shortens a ranging time. SOLUTION: This sampling device provided with two or more sampling means eliminates a sampling operation for ranging by simultaneously sampling a signal with the respective sampling means and then using a value sampled by any of the sampling means, and shortens a time necessary for ranging. To select any of the sampling means, the respective sampling means estimate the possibility that the instantaneous value of a signal inputted to the sampling means exceeds the input range of the sampling means by providing a threshold appropriate to the sample value of the sampling means.
