PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for automatically protecting an electronic picture corresponding to a film picture recorded on a loaded film unit from overwriting in a first-in first-out system and its method. SOLUTION: A set of latent pictures are fetched in a camera 10. While those latent pictures are fetched, the first sub-set of electronic pictures corresponding to those latent pictures are fetched. Then, the second sub-set of electronic pictures are fetched independently of the fetch processing of those latent pictures. A memory 112 of the camera 10 is filled with those electronic pictures. After the memory 112 is filled, the second sub-set of electronic pictures in the memory are replaced in a first-in first-out system, and the first sub-set of electronic pictures are held in the memory 112.
