A pharmaceutical composition comprising a calcium receptor antagonist for treating abnormal bone or mineral homeostasis

Calcium receptor antagonists represented by Formula (I) and their use in the treatment of a variety of diseases is described. The diseases are associated with abnormal bone or mineral homeostasis and include hypoparathyroidism, osteosarcoma, periodontal disease, fracture healing, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Paget's disease, humoral hypercalcemia associated with malignancy and fracture healing, and osteoporosis. Methods for antagonising calcium receptors and for increasing serum parathyroid levels in an animal, comprising administering an effective amount of a compound of Formula (I), are also described.
