PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing roll excellent in the productivity and in the adhesion durability on the interface between a foamed body and a core metal and to provide a method for manufacturing the roll. SOLUTION: The fixing roll comprises a core metal (1) the outer periphery of which is covered with a hollow cylindrical silicone rubber foamed body (3) having a skin layer (2) on the inner wall surface of the hollow part. The method for manufacturing the roll includes steps of extruding silicone rubber with addition of a vulcanizing agent and a foaming agent into a tube, leaving the tube to stand at normal temperature or ageing at low temperature, then heating to vulcanize and foam to obtain the hollow cylindrical silicone rubber foamed body (3) having the skin layer (2) on the inner wall surface, and then applying the tube on the outer periphery of the core metal (1).
