PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformalize the film thickness of an outer and inner plate in an automobile body. SOLUTION: The electrodeposition coating is carried out by shielding at least a part of a side pole and controlling the minimum distance between the upper surface of the side pole and the bottom surface of the automobile body to 0.3-0.7 m to control the ratio (I2 /(I1 +I2 )) of a current (I2 ) passing between a floor pole and the automobile body to the sum (I1 +I2 ) of a current (I1 ) passing between the side pole and the automobile body and the current (I2 ) passing between the floor pole and the automobile to >=30%.
