The invention relates to a method for determining the character as an inhibitor or an activator of a substance, and has applicability in the genic therapy field. According to the invention, the method consists in the fact that the protein produced by a cell determines a reactive modification of a phenotype characteristic different from the level of protein production within the cell as such, and comprises the following stages: a) providing a first cell line producing the protein and presenting the phenotype answer to protein; b) providing a second cell line producing the protein to a lower degree than the first cell line or not producing protein at all and presenting the phenotype answer to protein in a lower level or not presenting it at all; c) incubating the substance with the first and the second cell line; and d) comparing the phenotype answer of the first cell line, to the substance, with the phenotype answer of the second cell line, in comparison with the substance. |
