The invention relates to an impervious fabric meant for swelling articles. According to the invention, the fabric is made up of polyethylene-terephthalate multifilament yarns of the same nature, both in warp and weft, with a linear density of 84 dtex, consisting of 32 filaments having a twist of 800 Z, woven with tabby weave, having the sett of warp and weft yarns of 400 +/- 20 yarns/10 cm, the weight of 77+/- 4 g/m2, the breaking strength of at least 64 daN/5 cm, the breaking elongation of 37% at the most, while the yarn slippage resistance is of at least 30 daN both in warp and weft, the fabric being coated on one side with a polyurethane-type polymer.
