A process for extracting a flavour/fragrance oil compound or biologically active compound such as a pesticide compound from a raw plant material, by contacting the raw material with an solvent comprising 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (R-245fa) to extract the compound into the solvent, and then separating the solvent from the raw material.
