PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system which is capable of providing a composite image that is used as an aid for a complicated driving operation to enable a driver to feel easy by just glancing over the composite image when the drives a car. SOLUTION: An image having a field of vision 180 deg. on either rear side of a vehicle in the backward direction is reversed and displayed by the use of images picked up with a camera mounted on a vehicle. The travel track 41 of reversing is displayed being superimposed on the image (a). Furthermore, a far area 43 is enlarged and displayed on a sub-window 44 (b), and auxiliary lines 45, 46, and 47 indicating the distance from the vehicle are displayed on the image by superimposing (c). |
