摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type biochemical sensor that can precisely analyze a very small amount of bio-molecules in a specimen such as blood and humor. SOLUTION: This biochemical sensor is provided with a substrate, the first optical waveguide formed on a surface of the substrate, gratings formed on both end surfaces of the first optical waveguide respectively, the second optical waveguide formed on the first optical waveguide positioned between the gratings, and having a refractive index higher than that of the first optical waveguide, and a functional membrane having a bio-molecule recognizing function and an information converting function, and it is characterized in that a mesh-like conductive thin film impressed with an electric field is arranged to be opposed to the functional membrane with a prescribed space.
