PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording carrier reproducing device which increases a storage sheet number of CD and, moreover, allows miniaturization of the composition. SOLUTION: The CD 14 which is inserted from an opening part 23 of casing 12 is drawn in by a transport roller 24 which is disposed on a frame 16 and is retained on a prescribed position of a stocker 13. The reproduction of the CD 14 retained in the stocker 13 is performed in such a manner that the frame 16 is vertically moved, a PU unit 15 is positioned, the CD 14 selected by the stocker 13 and the stocker 13 above the CD 14 are divided and elevated, the PU unit 15 is allowed to proceed to a clamp position and, thereby, the upper division part of the stocker 13 is positioned thereon. When the PU unit 15 is drawn out to a PLAY position, the CD 14 is moved to the turntable side and the reproduction is enabled. Upper and lower rollers 25, 26 which transport the CD 14 to the stocker 13 on the reproduction of the CD 14 and the PU unit 15 for reproduction vertically overlap each other and area arranged on a position deviated from the stocker 13 and, therefore, the space inside the casing 12 can be effectively used.
