METHOD, SYSTEM, AND PROGRAM FOR MONITORING PROGRAM EXECUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device which execute a program on the server side through a browser by using a CGI (Common Gateway Interface) and monitor the execution result of the program. SOLUTION: A WWW browser 210 accesses a WWW server 110 to deliver the name of a program to be executed to a CGI program 120. The CGI program 120 executes a program 150 in accordance with the delivered program name and transfers the process ID of the executed program 150 to a monitor program 130. The CGI program 120 informs the WWW browser of normal program execution with HTML data to terminate processing when the program 150 has been normally executed. The monitor program 130 monitors the program having the process ID received from the CGI program 120 and acquires an end code when the program ends and records the end code in a recorder 140. The WWW browser 210 displays the contents of the recorder 140 when confirming the end code.
