PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a wavelength selective transmission member such as a filter contained in a package and possessing incident angle dependency. SOLUTION: An optical module 1 is provided in a module package 2. The optical module 1 comprises a base section 3, an optical branch member 11 provided on a base surface 3a of the base section 3 for dividing incident light into a plurality of lights, a wavelength selective transmission filter 14 which has a wavelength selection characteristic in response to the incident angle of light, and which selectively transmits branch light having, when one branch light in a plurality of branch lights branched through the optical branch member 11 is incident thereon, a wavelength corresponding to the incident angle of the one branch light, and a filter holder 25 which holds the wavelength selective transmission filter 14 and includes slopes 30, 32 (refer to FIG. 3.) inclined fanwise with respect to the base surface 3a and welded to the base surface 3a.
