PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for adjusting a diopter scale which enables arrangement without bulging the appearance of a camera, etc. SOLUTION: The mechanism is provided with ocular lens holding parts 55, 57 and 59 to movably hold an ocular lens 36 in an optical axis direction for diopter scale adjustment. A diopter scale adjustment cam 51 to be engaged with a cam follower pin 59 which is part of the ocular lens holding part is formed. The diopter scale adjustment cam 51 is attached to a diopter scale adjustment interlocking block 49, and the adjustment cam 51 and the interlocking block 49 integrally moves in a direction vertical to the optical axis of the ocular lens 36. A sliding mechanism for the interlocking block 49 is provided by the side of the ocular lens 36 so that the adjustment cam 51 and the interlocking block 49 can integrally move. The interlocking block 49 is engaged with a diopter scale adjustment dial 15, and the rotational operation of the adjustment dial 15 is converted into sliding in the lateral direction of the interlocking block 49. The interlocking block 49 has a slant face in a part, and the operational face of the adjustment dial 15 can be arranged in parallel with the slant face.
