PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic pedometer, which detects the movement by a vehicle such as an electric railcar or the like and masks the counting of the number of steps in this case. SOLUTION: The electronic pedometer 1 comprises a Z-axis sensor 12 for detecting a vibration in the vertical direction, an arithmetic unit 16 for counting the number of the steps, based on the detected result of the sensor 12, an X-Y axis sensor 13 for detecting acceleration in the horizontal direction, and a vehicle movement detector 14 for detecting the movement by the vehicle, based on the acceleration detected by the sensor 13. When the movement detected by riding in the vehicle is detected by the detector 14, the counting processing is masked.
