Image processing apparatus and display control method

An image display apparatus includes a phone CPU and a game CPU. The phone CPU processes a phone function being continuously set into an on state, and the game CPU processes a game function being set into an on state in case of necessity. When the game function is in an off state, binary image data and color image data relating to the phone function are written to a first frame memory and a second frame memory, respectively. When the game function is set into an on state, the color image data relating to the game function is written to the second frame memory in place of the color image data relating to the phone function. A composite image based on the binary image data stored in the first frame memory and the color image data stored in the second frame memory is displayed on an LCD.
