PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to achieve improved quality of cathode ray tube and work efficiency by forming blue, green and red phosphor screens on the inner surface of the effective surface of the panel through the use of a roller. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of disposing a panel on a fixture(100); a second step of disposing a tungsten plate(112) having a slit arrangement for forming a blue phosphor screen on the inner surface of an effective surface(104) of the panel in such a manner that the tungsten plate forms a curve same as the inner surface of the effective surface of the panel; a third step of staining a roller(114) with the blue phosphor; a fourth step of disposing the roller at an end of the longer side of the tungsten plate arranged on the inner surface of the effective surface of the panel; a fifth step of coating the blue phosphor by rolling the roller from the end of the longer side of the tungsten plate to the other end of the longer side of the tungsten plate; a sixth step of removing the tungsten plate from the inner surface of the effective surface of the panel; and a seventh step of sequentially coating a green phosphor and a red phosphor on the inner surface of the effective surface of the panel by repeating the first to sixth steps.
