METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GRAVITATIONAL SLUDGE THICKENING

PURPOSE: An apparatus for gravitational sludge thickening is provided, which exhibits excellent thickening efficiency by modifying its construction. CONSTITUTION: In an advanced wastewater treatment facility, the apparatus includes a primary settling tank(1) equipped with a sludge hopper in which excess activated sludge supplied through a pump after denitrification is settled down or excess sludge is directly mixed with raw wastewater for settlement; a sludge suction pump(2) and a sludge pipe(4) which are installed to withdraw settled sludge from the primary settling tank to distribution reservoir; a distribution reservoir(5) through which excess sludge transferred from the primary settling tank is uniformly distributed to each gravitational thickening tank; a sludge pipe(8) and sludge withdraw pump which are installed to continuously withdraw excess sludge from the distribution reservoir at a predetermined amount to the each gravitational thickening tank; and gravitational thickening tanks(9).
