Heat insulating brick consists of a non-fines light aggregate mixture of a fine component and a coarse component; and a cement matrix for embedding the aggregate mixture. The fine component is made from an expanded glass granulate having a grain size of up to 2 mm. The coarse component is made from an expanded glass and/or expanded clay granulate having a grain size from 4 mm. The cement matrix is foamed using an air pore former. Preferred Features: The amount of the fine component in the light aggregate mixture is 20-30 %. The amount of the coarse component is 10-100 %. The fine component has a grain spectrum of 1-2 mm.
