PURPOSE: A method for adjusting background light in a mobile communication terminal is provided so that a user of the mobile communication terminal easily confirms a low-voltage state of a battery by differently controlling the illumination of the background light according to a power supply voltage state of the battery. CONSTITUTION: An MSM(Mobile Station Modem) checks whether a power supply voltage of a battery is greater than a uniform voltage. If the power supply voltage of the battery is greater than the uniform voltage, the MSM brightens background light. If the power supply voltage of the battery is less than the uniform voltage, the MSM darkens the background light.
