PURPOSE: A method for deleting a short message in a caller mobile communication terminal is provided to delete the corresponding short message in a reception-side mobile communication terminal by writing a message code in the caller mobile communication terminal for requesting the deletion of the transmitted short message and transmitting the written message code to the reception-side mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A user code is inputted through a user interface menu of a caller mobile communication terminal for managing a short message. If a user of the caller mobile communication terminal selects a short message mode, the caller mobile communication terminal writes a short message including the user code and a message code according to the selected short message mode, and transmits the written short message to a reception-side mobile communication terminal. The reception-side mobile communication terminal receives the transmitted short message, discriminates the user code and the message code of the received short message, and processes the short message according to the message code.
