The pedal mechanism has at least 2 control pedals (P1,P2), each having a holder, a pivoted pedal and a setting mechanism (5),for synchronous adjustment of the rest position of the pedals, under control of a common operating drive (1). The setting mechanism for at least one pedal has an associated safety element (10), which locks the setting adjustment of the other pedal upon failure of the setting mechanism.
