The device has a suction hose connected to a connector part for connection to a suction socket and a grip part via which the device can be connected to a suction end part. The grip part can also carry an on/off switch and carries mains voltage contacts to which mains cables run along the hose. A further mains cable runs along the hose for connection via the switch on the grip part or suction end part to one of the cables connected to the contacts. The device has a suction hose connected to a connector part for connection to a suction socket and a grip part via which the suction hose device can be connected to a suction end part. The grip part can also carry an on/off switch (11) for the suction hose device and carries mains voltage contacts (10) to which mains cables (14,15) run along the hose. A further mains voltage cable (16) runs along the hose for connection via the switch on the grip part or suction end part to one of the cables connected to the contacts.
